Transcending Thoughts

A life spent in making mistakes is not only more honorable but more useful than a life spent in doing nothing.

Calling of the Heart

Passion is a calling of the heart -- an inner intensity that brings emotion to life. It enhances performance and makes us feel enthusiastic about the things we want to accomplish. Our passions make us feel energetic and self-confident.

"Today a new sun rises for me; everything lives, everything is animated, everything seems to speak to me of my passion, everything invites me to cherish it," said Anne de Lenclos.

She spoke of the inner fire that powers the desire to achieve -- the heart-felt inspiration of a dream. For our passions to be realized, they must become part of our day-to-day lives.

Passion can free us when we feel stuck, but we must identify that passion, and allow it to enter. Then it can begin to dissolve self-imposed limitations. Once we have acknowledged our passion, we can move forward step by step.

As Adrian Rogers suggested, small steps can bring significant changes. We can include our passions each day in small ways at first. The process of life will soon begin to reflect back to us our most cherished dreams and desires.

Ask yourself: Are there any special passions that I am not including in my life? What is one thing that I could be or do that would invite me to cherish it deeply?

Now think of a specific action you could take -- one small way to begin making that passion a part of your life today.

Step by step, you will bring about small changes that accumulate into large rewards. Life will truly "speak to you" as you live the self-actualized life that you've always wanted.
