Transcending Thoughts

Until one is committed, there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back, always ineffectiveness concerning all acts of initiative and creation. There is one elementary truth, the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: that the moment one definitely commits oneself, then providence moves too, all sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred. A whole stream of events issues from the decision raising in one's favor all manner of unforeseen events, meetings and material assistance which no one could have dreamed would have come their way.

Today, politics, art, and the basis of all relations, et al

by James M Nordlund

Hello. I've noticed that few are even mentioning the deafening silence concerning Al Sharpton, and other progressive candidacies, or third party efforts, afforded them by the multi-media conspiracy. "We" must not forget that dempublicans are the facilitators for the remocrats and the whole republican conspiracy; without them "we" would have elected third party candidates decades ago; their being down with the devolution of the people was the necessary building block of the current blitzkrieg. So, the dempublicans sicked the corporate structure's dogs, the remocrats, on us, are "we" going to run to "them" for protection now; or finally vote for the only real change available, like Sharpton, Nader, Laduke, Cobb, etc.? Did anyone notice how the supposed independents and remocrats all voted for Edwards to get Dean out of the race in the Wisconsin primary? Has anyone heard of unity of direction? Certainly, we see that the remocrats have.

Also, I'm hoping that 'In The Cut' is just the latest result of the film industries version of the crypts vs. the bloods turf war, for the devolution, and not a devolutionary call to arms by the corporate structure's convolution against humanity, and evolution itself; for e.g., 'Crimetime', 'Kill Bill', etc.. Yet, though L.A. and NYC spar off from time to time, usually pop junk fare like this, attempting to make Americans more addicted to sex, drugs, rock n' roll, and consumerism, etc., is more profusely proffered by la la land. Yet, even though this movie smells like L.A., it says it's located in NYC, how nice. To say it's devolution in a can is too kind. For, it's anti :) NYC, heterosexuality, cinematography, friendship, artistic substance, good direction and script, humanity, sex, personal and professional ethics, teachers and teaching, police officers and policing, feminist, et al. Simply, a sad waste of strawberry syrup, strewn about like there's no tomorrow; which there won't be if this is the sociological programming that 'they' are going to devolve the populace with from now on.

Though, considering the poor direction, lack of plot, and poor script, the acting was pretty good; so what! The musical line that best describes this film and the supposed laisez-faire attitude that has plagued supposed business and global society, and in particular the film industry in this country, is, "...Que sera, sera, what ever will be, will be, the truth is not ours to see; que sera sera...". I'm left quoting a fallen emperor, while hoping our current one will soon be dethroned, "et tu Meg?". In all fairness, Hollywood has given us some excellent works :) 'Pancho Villa', 'The Hours', 'Frida', 'iron jawed angels' et al, a pretty good year for viewing. Though, the hour is late for humanity, no?

The basis of all relations, including with self, and all studies, including activism and advocacy, are also environmental, spiritual, etc., yet, the delusional constructs of 'materialism' have all but done away with most of those discernments. For e.g., I feel the asking of the why "we" don't necessarily have spiritual human relationships is as interesting a question as who do we have them with; if anybody. Even though the personal is the basis for the communal, global, et al, what becomes societal trend, and thereby market directed sociological programming of people, is of more far reaching causes and, sadly, effects; no? One of the problems is that the market forces don't adjust evolutionarily, or positively, in terms of growth that doesn't follow it's age old principles of ever-increasingly, cyclical and centralizing supposed garnering of delusional profits and delusional pleasures, in the shortest amount of time; usually along the lines of divide and conquer; determining vacuum-up, scarcity based, economic systems.

For e.g., uplifting human rights has always been the direction of the evolution. We know that the corporate structures' convolution's direction of devolution uses military industrial complexes, and especially war, as a prime tool for garnering exponentially more delusional profits and delusional pleasures in ever increasing cyclical and centralizing patterns; a root delusion of it being that destruction and murder are profit. So, humanity has always struggled for less war, not more; and will always do so. Viva la evolution! Yet, instead of decreasing war, the purposeful non-prevention of 9-11, conveniently, for e.g., has determined, of national and global necessity, unending war; and its unending corporate welfare to the military and prison industrial complexes, etc..

This conveniently timed to dash the hopes and efforts of millions to realize peace as this new millennium's way, and to set-up military dictatorships in almost every country, just when evolutionary movements of a global scale, like green, women's, and labor, were beginning to make more real and lasting differences; not only locally, internationally as well. Also, timed to take away attention (personal, communal, multi-media, national, global), concerns, actions, time, money from all attempts by the spectrum of activists and advocates, et al, to do what they all could to prevent the destruction of global, local, eco-systems to the point where the ecological destruction was such that it would be irreversible, and catastrophic, altering the earth's rotation on its axis, etc.; in the future, and thereby at least causing the extinction of humanity and large mammals.

To say that Middle Eastern and American oil, etc., (all oil is the same, as all industries that depend on it are) have accomplished this would be the understatement of the year. Lest "we" forget, this will facilitate the corporate structure and its puppets, like gov'ts, organized supposed religions, supposed politics, supposed sciences, and supposed arts, to stop those humanitarian global evolutionary movements and trends, or at least subvert, co-opt, convert them into becoming as devolutionary as they can, mitigating the strength of the decentralizing, humanitarian, and evolutionary efforts of all kinds by all those who are; stopping evolution in its tracks, making it and all life uplifting it easier targets, etc..

For, the corporate structure figured out that a possible potential of democratic processes, e.g. one man, one vote (what's needed in Iraq), would be those very evolutionary trends of saving humanity from itself, like switching to renewable and non-polluting sources of energy, non-fossil fuels, non-'bustible engines, etc., which were totally opposite of all their ends and most of their means; in two words, uber-greed and avarice. So, now, people protecting for environmental issues are conveniently being labeled terrorist, etc., because of the (anti-) Patriot Act, etc., paving the yellow brick road of the delusional constructs of materialism and destruction and murder as delusional profit and delusional pleasure (the 'ends' of the 'means' of divide and conquer), as societies' perfection of sociological organizing principles (supposed power); as far as the corporate structure's concerned.

Yet, those delusional constructs, like materialism and destruction and murder as delusional profit and delusional pleasure, which all life are only more organized on as societal building blocks, aren't, wherein lies the epitome of individual and global problems of any and all kinds; and the basis for the extreme relevance of this topic to any and all. For e.g., in our main fields discussion here, counseling, therapy, et al, materialism and patriarchal determination of devolutionary behaviorism, the medical business' choice to replace the evolutionary movements of psychology, have made most psychiatrists runners for the street drug pushers, pharmacies, who are materially married to there drug gang, their hospital, who are all part of the larger drug cartels, all part of the pharmaceutical industries.

Early proof of this follows :) Healy (The Antidepressant Era) claims that earlier psychiatry was also scientifically based and had some notable successes, such as the treatment of catatonia with shock therapy. Healy's second theme is that because the success of psychiatric drugs, the choice of treatment options is largely dependent on the financial preferences of the pharmaceutical industry. For example, the author argues that "randomized controlled trials" of drugs are favored by the pharmaceutical industry because they allow products to be marketed to a wide audience, but what is desperately needed is more research on the effects of medications on more specific types of patients. While this theme has certainly been sounded before (T.R. Luhrmann's Of Two Minds is an accessible discussion of the pitfalls of drug-based psychiatry), the detailed history of the development of psychiatric drugs and the "culture" surrounding them makes this book unique.

Mary Ann Hughes, Neill P.L., Pullman, WA. Another, Jonathan Cole's leadership of the Psychopharmacology Research Center within the National Institute of Mental Health, that multiple seminal meetings during the 1950's were held in France, the United States, Italy and elsewhere to grapple with the amazing clinical and scientific impact of chlorpromazine, that clinical rating scales become of validating importance, that there were vigorous disputes about lithium utility and the concept of panic disorder, that there was an unfortunate shift away from clinical significance to statistical significance, that the pharmaceutical industry dominates clinical research, that this is facilitated by the abdication by NIMH and academia of clinical psychopharmacological science in pursuit of the sub-synaptic, that industry's narrow, profit maximization focus on patent time limits and rapid approval by national regulatory agencies (e.g., FDA) dominates marketing strategies, dissemination of positive information, downplays side effects, limits research to acute efficacy studies, limits post-marketing surveillance, and promotes debatable, simplistic, theories of drug action to provide a persuasive veneer of scientific solidity to therapeutic claims.

This devolutionary global malignancy is irrefutable, with tons of evidence, in every field of human endeavor, though! Thereby mammon, the supposed god of greed has become the real religion and science that most of supposed Muslims and supposed Christians and their denominations, supposed scientists, supposed artists, etc., as well as most others, practice under as denominations of it, this the actual unifying we're seeing going on now? For e.g., in current affairs, Christian materialism didn't quite have the imperial might of their predecessors, the Roman Catholic Empire, in our country, so, they needed an excuse to take over; "in the name of God", of course- supplying total deniability.

Voila, a clash of materialisms, based on M.E. oil, and U.S. oil, respectively, ensued; go figure. Now, instead of extremist, religious, oil based materialists dominating their area in the M.E., and looking to expand it, by imperialism and oppression, internally and externally, we've got the U.S. extremist, religious, oil based materialists, who were dominating their area in the U.S. to a lesser degree, insisting, because of their twins in the M.E., that they must dominate in the U.S. more totally, in order to mirror their Twins in the M.E. better, by, and looking to expand it, increasing imperialism and oppression, internally and externally.

Though, in our fields of science, this is also most evident as science has become supposed science only; market orientated, not truth seeking and investigative for the enlivenment of humanities' evolution. The unknown is a scientific fact, yet, totally dismissed from all supposed scientific thought today. All scientific laws are just extremely accurate probabilities, yet, for avarice and greed, they purport them to be reality. In the U.S., almost all supposed scientists that work for the gov't are even worse, for, they're political scientists first; practicing whatever other supposed science they fabricate they're experts in only as subordinates to the politics of their superiors.

Now, it's far worse, even the political supposed scientists that work for the gov't are having their half truths silenced by the make believe Christian supposed scientists, who dictate that supposed science must answer to make believe Christianity before politics; and many of them are being silenced and losing their jobs if they resist! They're making the "scientific" world as totalitarian, and its communication as controlled, as the political world; in order to prevent forewarning of the people of the permanently altered weather cycles and their causing the coming extinction of humanity.

That's another reason for the republican conspiracies' supposedly necessitated "unending war" against terrorism. To set up military dictatorships everywhere they can, that are controlled by the corporate structure and its puppet gov'ts. That so the people will be ruled by the military, and when they resist the race towards extinction, they'll be forced to go along with it. So, now, post 9-11 (and "unending war" totally replacing the evolution as humanities' exigency) the 'scientific' world not only has to deal with its lack of (w)holistic, spiritual and somatic perspectives and its machine like approach, it also has to deal with its abysmal market directed half truths being silenced by religious dogmatists who fabricate they're Christian.

So, what I'm getting at is that the sociological spiritual vacuum that the illusions of possession, separation, matter as possibly devoid of spirit, of energy and matter not being the same, of spirituality being a choice only and not a reality, etc., are the bricks in the delusional constructed wall of materialism, which doesn't exist; determining that most of humanity, at least sociologically, doesn't see the forest for the trees. For, as Karl Marx stated, nature abhors a vacuum, and it is filled. So, since society is based on this, and other delusional constructs, society at large (global), and at small (individual soma) are suffering the consequences of their actions and lack thereof; leading to extinction of humanity eventually, and all the destruction, death, murder before it, etc..

This does not build strong, individuals who struggle for spiritual growth, let alone spiritual relations with others, communities, or strong anything, it destroys all through the republican conspiracies' convolution's direction of devolution! Yet, I want to address that, in order to militarize all nations and rest all control from the people, and determine that the upcoming destruction of earth and inevitable extinction of humanity can't be thwarted by people, determining the most delusional profits and delusional pleasures being vacuumed-up in ever increasingly centralizing and cyclical patterns in the shortest amount of time; before the evolution has a chance to retake hold!

Will spirituality help us rise to the occasion, when even deductive logic, or most any other kind, has fallen from vogue for decades now, being replaced by market desired and political directed numbing and dumbing down of society at large (concentration of censorship and ownership by the multimedia conspiracy), and especially at small (the individual soma's perception being dulled, time being used in needed survival mode, and feelings, real power, being subjugated to necessary requirements of supposed professionalism, etc.); with unimaginably deleterious effects to the evolution. Like spirituality, even logic has to be taught again, as related in Ivan Illich's "Deschooling Society".

Yet, for e.g., if we look at the vast knowledge, mystery, and wonder, of the spirituality of Vishnu and the concurrent technology of 10,000 years ago, for example, and the river of life, we can easily discern how technology has advanced astronomically, while knowledge, spirituality, humanity, mythos, religion, psychology, et al, have only advanced exponentially. Technology used to be a tool in man's hand, now man has become the tool, and technology the hand. While it grows in every way, man devolves day by day. As well, the corporate structure's (and its puppets: gov'ts, organized religions, etc.) convolution's direction of devolution of society has wrought an astronomical decrease in humanities' potential, to the point where we may not even avoid the extinction we've almost determined on our horizon, yet, in potentia, an individual soma is illimitable; and hopefully "we" can.

With the advancing onslaught of time (as it's become Cartesian defined and sociologically devolutionary) being speed up by the technocracies' destruction of ecosystems leading to their permanently altering weather cycles and 200 year apart super-cyclones coming once every 50 years or shorter, "we", the people, have little time to stop the devolutionary direction of the convolution in its tract, and turn humanity around 360 degrees, back to the future and evolution. This is facilitated by the dissolution of all life's solutions, if you'll allow, with reality; through the devolutionary directions dilution of all of them, etc.. It may not be as long as 20 years, though, it may be 2, so, we do what we can; no?

Certainly the studies of spirituality, as not separated from every aspect of reality (as there's no separation and not no separation at once), including others, must be a root of that potential future for humanity, only created through uplifting all human potential now. Here's a spiritual study in poetic form that informs discernments of all life being necessary threads in the fabric of life :)

If there was something in the air
If there was something in the wind
If there was something in the trees or bushes
That could be pronounced and once was overheard by animals,
Let this Sacred Knowledge be returned to us again.
Artharvaveda (VII, 66) as quoted in Entering the Circle

As well, the understanding that spirituality is part of all life and relations with others, (or can be if one thinks it's not) is predicated on the study of self, and others as 'not different'. This while people don't only dislike what they can't 'identify' with or understand, they tend to ostracize them or it. For e.g., this is compensatory because, if it's not in their life, then they won't have to think or feel more to relate to the genuine person; which makes them "feel and think" of themselves as together.

They also, thereby, hope to not "have to" actually think about their lives, feel their feelings ( the roots of spirituality ); the going along to get along game they play on themselves. They also do this because, their conformity, a mirror image of themselves, is all they allow themselves to see, which assuages their fears that relate to acceptance and control; e.g., being liked, surviving, succeeding, fitting in, etc..

I've had difficulty, yet, kept struggling, the growth potential, alone, makes being more real well worth it; i.m.h.o. Yet, I think there's, at least, a step further one can take your line of inquiry. For, yes, the questioners have their own agendas they want us to play into, yet, the labelers aren't the only ones. What about ourselves and our agendas? What, with keeping Jung's analysis in mind that 80 % of every action, thought, feeling we have is compensatory towards our past, this would bring light to the question, why would we label ourselves; even as "being ourselves"? It brings to mind the whole how could we possibly say who we are, because, as we're evolving, we are no longer that person we were, or were referring to, question. I'll address that later.

First, for e.g., I don't refer to myself as anything. Let me explain. Since most people that call themselves Christians are only make believe Christians who continually defile Jesus Christ's teachings in his name, I won't call myself a Christian. The same with a scientist, etc.. Not to forget the abominations done by so-called Christians, in Jesus Christ's name. As well, I won't call myself a Buddhist or Christian because the label is usually used by the make believe ones to garner delusional profits and delusional pleasures from controlling that "group". They use it to differentiate in order to control, etc; usually. Another reason I don't use the labels is because the labels are also used to illude and delude ourselves, like the make believe students of religion do. How could I say I'm a Hindu, Jew, or Muslim, have I encompassed all that those great teachings have to offer. Don't we tend to do less when we think we've "accomplished" something, like being a "Christian"?

Another e.g., isn't the study of Native American Spirituality of such great breadth and depth that to fathom it is impossible? So, why would I assert I'm a Christian, am I really being all that that assertion would entail in that moment; or, even, any moment? As well, because, I was brought up in a militaristic style household where feeling wasn't, nor any religion, I've had a good initial course in questioning instead of believing. This took me a time to adjust, and experientially uplift myself and all with. For, feeling is power, and its denial or lack of insight on can have powerfully negative effects.

Yet, since I've always discarded boxes, labels, and those who would, or do pigeon hole, experience has enlightened much of life. I used to say, in order to believe in sides, you have to be a square. Yet, I amended it to, not all those that believe in sides are squares. I had to run away from home for the last time at 14. I stopped studying any belief system since 16 years old, choosing to study reality, instead, for the past 27 years, it serves me well, and reality too. This is based in experience and its fathomless well of knowledge. This is also the way I study religions, spiritualities, sciences, arts, et al. The good thing is that square or round pegs can fit into the one that they're not. Yet, what potential growth is lost with this miss fitting can't be calculated.

So, we continue to search, seek, grow, move, learn, teach, be, as we can; while we can. How do we even relate? I think allowing the evolution as a common language, as it's the thread that links every, in the fabric of life, is a good place to start. In that direction :) Have you also discarded the labels of, stereotypes associated with, box of "being oneself"? For, since, if you don't exercise responsibility, its Siamese sister, freedom, will wither as well, can we allow ourselves the delusional pleasures of being satisfied with our thinking that we are being ourselves; even when we endeavor to? Don't we have to let go of the projection that we want to be ourselves inorder to be evolutionarily on the path to find out what that might be?

Though, indeed, the self we talk about to others in various circumstances, and with varying length of knowing of the person, and dependent on the nature of those relations, plays key roles in our communications. Yet, while we all have that multitude of masks, isn't the self becoming, like a snake sheds its skin, shedding those masks? To what we've all been referring to as the more genuine, real, original self? Also, how about the self before birth, totally non-sociological self's beginnings? Here's 2 literary studies in the above mentioned discernments of being, individually and in relation, the cornerstone of spirituality; and on how nature is a plethora of teachers, if "we" still are students :)

Then a cloud passed, and the pool was empty....
Go, go, go, said the bird, human kind
Cannot bear very much reality.
And yet there is that other dimension altogether
in the very fact of consciousness itself:
To be conscious is not to be in time.
... Except for the point, the still point,
There would be no dance, and there is only the dance.
I can only say, there we have been: but I cannot say where,
And I cannot say, how long, for that is to place it in time.
I will say to my soul, Be still, and let the dark come upon you,
Which shall be the darkness of God.
The inner freedom from the practical desire,
The release from action and suffering, release from the inner
And outer compulsion, yet surrounded
By a grace of sense, a white light still and moving ...
And what the dead had no speech for, when living,
They can tell you, being dead: the communication
Of the dead is tongued with fire beyond the language of the living.
T.S. Eliot's poetic opus, the cycle called "Four Quartets".

The Native Mind tends to view wisdom and environmental ethics as discernible in the very structure and organization of the natural world rather than as the lofty product of human reason far removed from nature. The Native Mind tends to view the universe as the dynamic interplay of elusive and ever-changing natural forces, not as a vast array of static physical objects. It tends to see the entire natural world as somehow alive and animated by a single, unifying life force, whatever its local Native name. It does not reduce the universe to progressively smaller conceptual bits and pieces. It tends to view time as circular (or as a coil-like fusion of circle and line), as characterized by natural cycles that sustain all life, and as facing humankind with recurrent moral crises-rather than as an unwavering linear escalator of "human progress". It tends to accept without undue anxiety the probability that nature will always possess unfathomable mysteries. It does not presume that the cosmos is completely decipherable to the rational human mind. It tends to view human thought, feelings, and communication as inextricably intertwined with events and processes in the universe rather than as apart from them. Indeed, words themselves are considered spiritually potent, generative, and somehow engaged in the continuum of the cosmos, not neutral and disengaged from it. The vocabulary of Native knowledge is inherently gentle and accommodating toward nature rather than aggressive and manipulative. The Native Mind tends to emphasize celebration of and participation in the orderly designs of nature instead of rationally "dissecting" the world. It tends to honor as its most esteemed elders those individuals who have experienced a profound and compassionate reconciliation of outer- and inner-directed knowledge, rather than virtually anyone who has made material achievement or simply survived to chronological old age. It tends to reveal a profound sense of empathy and kinship with other forms of life, rather than a sense of separateness from them or superiority over them. Each species is seen as richly endowed with its own singular array of gifts and powers, rather than as somehow pathetically limited compared with human beings. Finally, it tends to view the proper human relationship with nature as a continuous dialogue (that is, a two-way, horizontal communication between Homo sapiens and other elements of the cosmos) rather than as a monologue (a one-way, vertical imperative). David Suzuki

In closing, "we" must remember, all people, as all life, are threads in the whole of the fabric of life, which will always need mending; yet, "we" can't allow it to be torn asunder. As well, here's a question that could easily be said to sum up "we" the people's spiritual dilemma. If the roots of lack of compassion for the diseased, disadvantaged, children, etc. and the en vogue economic tool war, one being psycho-pathic greed, aren't addressed in Western societies sociological programming of their populaces, won't the corporate structure's convolution's devolutionary direction eventually determine more apathy and social pathos in global society; ergo, less funding for prevention, treatment, and research into curing AIDS, defense of reproductive rights, and opposition to war as a substitute for economic growth and foreign policy, in the long run? Yet, who will entertain it, let alone pose it? What does the fact that it won't be posed, like the question of spiritual relations with others, portend for the existence of whole continents, like Africa, nay humanity itself?
