Transcending Thought
Those who have conquered themselves...live in peace, alike in cold and heat, pleasure and pain, praise and blame...To such people a clod of dirt, a stone, and gold are the same...Because they are impartial, they rise to great heights.

Singing is like praying twice
"Singing is like praying twice"
The "Real" Maria Von Trapp
There is something sacred in experiencing the lush sweetness of a heart-filled voice traveling up and down a string of pearl-like-notes, simultaneously filling the body and being birthed from the body.
When we sing, we take the words and notes of a scribe and fill the words with our soul..
Maria Von Trapp got it right. Singing IS like praying twice.
It's Not a Chaotic Calendar, It's Camouflage -
I haven't made any secret of bountifully filled nature of my calendar during the last week. Chaotic doesn't sound very enlightening or fulfilling - yet that is a bit what these days have felt like when I look underneath the camouflage cover of "Don't Say That!"
Yet when I let my eyes go a bit deeper under the veil and breathe in, deeply - I find peace.
Peace in creating my Possibility List for tomorrow - so I can have it printed out and ready before I go to rehearsal this afternoon.

Have you ever been discouraged, felt like you were at a crossroads and had no idea which way to go?
Maybe you had somehow fallen so far off the path you didn't even know who you were - and you weren't sure when the last time was that you allowed yourself to be fully yourself.
Ugo Betti, Italian Dramatist, Poet (who was, by vocation, also a Judge) said "There is always a certain peace in being what one is, in being that completely."
Yes
by Julie Jordan Scott
I wrote a poem the other day - and is it was being penned I was reflecting on what I knew was right on the horizon.
Allow the words of the poem to float into your breath, into your heart, into your soul and your being.
Yes to the wind as it plays the chimes
Yes to the words which roll in rhymes
Yes to the song within my heart
Yes to whatever is longing to start
Yes to follow, a whim - in grace
Yes to each runner completing the race
Yes to each heart, each spirit, each soul
Yes to the readiness to plant a goal
Yes to the richness within each one
Yes to the treasures sparkling in the sun
Yes to continuing, to starting, to move
Yes to the flowing into the groove
Yes to the blossoming, growing light
Yes to the opening of each sight
Yes to nature, to everything coming to be
Yes, most especially, to me loving me
